In Beijing, China, magnificent infrastructures are being implemented in the city but sometimes has to be reconstructed due to a lack of flexibility and adaptability. This studio work engages on a site in the university districts in Beijing, exploring the possibility of smart infrastructure. Through investigating on the notion of TOD (Transit Oriented Development) and precedence of adaptive architecture system (modular units and metabolism movement), my project is imaging a type of smart infrastructure that could re-position the area for higher mobility in knowledge transition, and also allow future growth to take place.
