Being one of the most dynamic and innovative retail environments in the world, Seoul nurtures a vibrant creative community of artists, designers, and beyond. This studio work is not a critique of urban change, but advocating for the urgency in the retail response to urban redevelopment. Located at a neighborhood named Seongsu with a rich history of manufacturing industry of automobiles and shoes, my design work includes programming, master planning and selected architecture proposal, intending to reactivate the declining neighborhood the, and wield design as a signifier of culture, rather than an outcome of it.
